A family membership allows an entire household to join the Grange together under one application, offering a substantial discount compared to buying separate individual memberships. Because the Grange is structured as a family-based organization, this is one of our most popular options.

Who is Covered?

  • Adults & Dependents: It covers one or more adults and their children, stepchildren, foster children, or legal dependents.
  • Age Limit for Voting: Family members must be at least 14 years old to have full fraternal voting rights and hold office.
  • Younger Children: Children between ages 5 and 14 are included in the family dynamic and are eligible to participate in Junior Grange activities.
  • Household Rules: Eligible dependents usually must live in the same household or be temporarily absent due to military service, higher education, or illness.

Key Benefits for Families

  • Full Democratic Voice: Every eligible teenager and adult in the family gets their own individual vote on local chapter policies and elections.
  • Shared Local Perks: The household gains access to community events, local agricultural fairs, and often discounted or free rentals of your local Grange Hall for private family events (like birthday parties or reunions).
  • National Discounts: The entire family can utilize National Grange Member Benefits, which include multi-person travel discounts, hotel bookings, rental car price drops, and pharmacy savings cards.

Fun Fact: The Grange has allowed teenagers to join as full, voting members since its inception in 1867. Unlike other 19th-century organizations, the National Grange intentionally built itself as a family-centered fraternity, welcoming youth alongside their parents from day one.
